Christmas Hamper demand up

Applications for Christmas food hampers in Creston are up this year.

Ministerial Association President, Pastor Steve Schneider says the number of requests they’ve received have doubled compared to last year.

He says the food bank also saw an increase in demand recently and the reasons are two-fold.

Schneider says 400 Christmas food hampers were distributed in Creston last year to individuals and families of all ages.

They include gift cards for groceries, breads, produce, as well as gifts for kids and pets.

Donations can be made through the Ministerial Association or at Creston grocery stores.
