Nelson’s proposed solar project is all about offering alternate energy .
But the city also wants to make sure it is genuinely clean and responsible.

Council had previously noted that some solar products, from China for example, may not be of a high enough ethical standard which would negate the whole point of the Nelson project.
The community can purchase solar panels once it goes to public offering November 17th.
