Interfor, the company that owns mills in Grand Forks and Castlegar, recorded a net loss of $6 million in the third quarter.
That’s compared to a net loss of over $20 million in the second quarter.
Interfor generated $430 million in sales between July and September.
One aspect that affected their bottom line was a $4 million loss related to the Castlegar sawmill.
Production was curtailed for seven weeks during the final stages of equipment installation under the mill’s $50 million modernization project.
