Trail disappointed by lack of deal with Rossland

The mayor of Trail is echoing the disappointment from Rossland that a shared recreation deal has not been reached.

The split has lasted five years.

They were just too far apart on an annual figure meaning Rosslanders will continue to be charged double for accessing Trail’s facilities.

Mike Martin says Trail has excellent assets and they require regional taxpayer support.

Rossland also had to consider its taxpayers.

Martin says the two communities negotiated in a spirit of co-operation, respect and friendship and they look forward to working together on other regional challenges.
