The RDKB director for Area B says her community will go the residential reimbursement route for at least the next year regarding future recreation at Trail’s facilities.
Linda Worley is speaking after a failure by both sides to reach a new deal.
She says only 12% of her residents had a so-called TRP rec card to use Trail’s facilities anyway and oly 8% used it regularly.
That public outreach resulted in half of residents who responded saying they’d prefer to be reimbursed for paying double the fees at Trail facilities.
Trail has voiced concern that a referendum in Area B five years ago approved shared recreation, but Worley figures the latest public outreach is a good indicator of opinion.
