Local donors prompt Creston Hospital ER upgrade

Upgrades are on the way to the Emergency department at the Creston Valley Hospital and Health Centre.

Interior Health has announced the tender for what will be about $650,000 worth of work.

The idea is to improve patient privacy and flow while increasing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the space.

IH says generous donations from the estates of three private Creston area families created the funding through the East Kootenay Foundation for Health. They were the estate of Jessie Hopper , Don and Dariel Korczynski and Blanche Oleskiw.

The tender will close this month and work will start January with completion by the end of spring.
