Stetski to be national parks critic

The MP for Kootenay-Columbia will be a political watchdog for national parks.

New democrat Wayne Stetski has been made critic for national parks by his party’s federal shadow cabinet.

He says he will work to ensure the Liberals do indeed remedy the damage caused by the Conservatives which resulted in a damning report from the Environment Commissioner.

He says $25 million was cut from national parks in 2012 and 106 staff lost in BC.

The NDP is no longer the official opposition but Stetski refers to his party as the progressive opposition.
