A local RCMP Officer will make his first court appearance early next week after being charged with theft .
Salmo Constable Dave Dyball has been charged in relation to alleged improper handling of exhibits at the detachment.
He is scheduled to appear in Nelson court Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred in April.
RCMP released a statement saying as the matter is before the courts there will be no further comment.
