Fortis rewards Castlegar’s energy efforts

The city of Castlegar stands to see big savings for their energy conservation efforts.

Fortis BC the city with a rebate cheque for saving roughly 540,000 kilo-hours annually by updating the venting system at the south sewage treatment plant.

Nicole Bogdanovic says the city has a history in keeping energy consumption down.

She says since 1998 the city has saved nearly 840,000 kilo-hours annually, which is enough to power 65,000 homes a year.
