Museum takes Memory Kits to seniors

The Touchstones Nelson museum and a band of volunteers are taking some exhibits on the road locally.

They are small suitcases filled with items from the 30’s,40’s,50’s and 60’s.

The aim is to prompt social interaction with seniors in care and engage in memory recall.

Coordinator Linda Sawchyn says it’s all about using the items to spark a conversation.

Touchstones has been taking the items to Nelson’s seniors facilities and they say they could always do with more outreach volunteers, especially men.
