The latest sculpture to go on permanent display in Castlegar is a stunning amalgam of steel and wood.
The people’s choice winner this year is a piece called regeneration.
It’s a hollowed-out tree stump made from logging cables with a cedar lining, bench and a little sapling coming out of the top.
It is the creation of Argenta artists Spring Shine and Christopher Petersen.

Shine says the annual public art offering in Castlegar isn’t just a boost for the community and tourism.
Some of the sculptures tour Nelson and Rossland as well.
