Boiler upgrades coming for some local schools

A provincial funding initiative will see various improvements coming to five of our local schools.

$35 million has been set aside for 109 projects across BC.

The funds are designed to make significant upgrades to heating, venting and structural projects on a priority basis.

In Nelson and Slocan Hume Elementary, L.V. Rogers and W.E. Graham are getting boiler upgrades.

In Trail the Kootenay Columbia learning school gets $405,000 for a new boiler.

Lucerne Elementary-Secondary School in New Denver gets $339,000 to fix their heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

For the schools to qualify for funding the cost of the projects must cost over $100,000.
