The unattended recycling bins in downtown Grand Forks may get in the way of the fire department’s new ladder truck.
So they’re being removed from their location at the fire hall February 1st.
Deputy Corporate Officer Sarah Winton says the truck requires more space to properly manoeuvre.
Winton doesn’t anticipate much resistance to the move.
The city says there’s a landfill a few minutes drive away for small businesses to take their recycling and an adequate curbside collection program is in place.
