Nelson Hydro says their first-ever solar garden will happen.
The community has now bought up 147 of the minimum 150 solar panels needed to get the project off the ground.
GM Alex Love says it’s almost certain that threshold will now be met.
As many as 260 panels could fit onto the Bonnington site if the demand stays as strong as it has been.

Customers will pay about $850 per panel on a 25-year contract.
They’ll see a return on investment within 15 years then make a net gain on their hydro bill over the remaining years.
