Nelson needs to think creatively to help get much-needed affordable housing units built.
This from City Councillor Michael Dailly who says council will be writing a formal letter of support regarding the proposed development by Kootenay Christian Fellowship.
They want to build 40 new rental units on their Falls Street property for the so-called “working poor”.
Rentals would be up to $800 a month.
The city could help out by waiving certain fees and charges.
The church needs to find $2 million in grants towards the $6.6 million project.
