Castlegar City Council has confirmed the utility budget for 2016.
Here’s city councilor Florio Vassilakakis.
The yearly total for sewer, water and garbage comes to $870 per year.
But this year bills will be charged quarterly, meaning residents will pay a smaller portion every three months rather than a lump-sum at the beginning of January.
Vassilikakis says this should make it easier on lower-income residents as they won’t be forced to make a near $900 payment to start the year.
