An organization that helps families pay for expenses related to children’s medical needs is seeing support from Creston.
East Kootenay Friends of Children will receive close to $150 from the Town’s discretionary fund.
Board Member Gail Brown says they assist families with the costs incurred when children are sent elsewhere for treatment.
She says this covers travel, accommodation and meals.

Brown says a number of families in the Creston Valley utilize the service.
Friends of Children helps those up to the age of 18 and applications for assistance must be made prior to accessing out-of-area services.
