Creston RCMP deal with surge of theft and vehicle issues

After multiple issues with vehicles not being properly registered, Creston RCMP are reminding valley residents to ensure the proper paperwork gets done when selling a vehicle.

The vehicle must be registered under the new owner’s name.

Along with the reminder, the RCMP report was filled with cases of theft and winter driving issues.

There was one case of a man driving while under the influence, one woman hit an elk and had to get a tow and a ride, and there was one reported theft from a vehicle.

A surprising number of shoplifting cases were also in last week’s police report.

One shoplifter was arrested after being identified, one is still being looked for, and two others accused of shoplifting alcohol have been identified and one was arrested.
