Health care providers will have tools to treat Syrian refugees

Interior Health is making sure health care providers are well-equipped to deal with any health issues Syrian refugees might be facing.

This from Dr. Trevor Corneil, Chief Medical Health Officer with IH.

Corneil says many of the refugees have been reported as suffering from trauma from being in war zones and other mental health issues.

Up to 400 Syrian refugees are expected in the Interior over the next three months.

Many will end up in Kelowna or Kamloops but some will likely be coming to the Kootenays.
