Local veteran mountie retires

One of our area’s longest serving mounties is retiring.

Sergeant Darryl Little, who has been based at the RCMP detachment in Nelson in recent years, is hanging up the uniform after 40 years on the job.

He became an officer in 1975 and his first posting was at the Montreal Olympics.

Little says while the job has sometimes involved dealing with tragedy he has always appreciated being able to work with the community and helping people.
