Momentum is building in Nelson regarding a community-wide move to make bigger strides towards further water conservation.
This from Councillor Valerie Warmington who notes more people are making a collective effort independent of what the city is already doing.
Warmington was speaking after local environmental campaigners presented to council which included moves by youth to mentor others on water conservation.
In addition a group of local climate change activists plan a water forum in the spring and the city has also set a goal for a permanent 20% reduction in water use.
