Lister under stage 3 water conservation measures

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) has implemented mandatory stage 3 water conservation measures for Lister.

Those on the Lister Water System are now restricted due to mechanical issues with the well pump.

The watering of lawns is prohibited. Trees, gardens, and shrubs may only be watered from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

However, drip irrigation, a watering can, or a hand-held hose can be used anytime.

Until the issue is resolved, the measures will remain in place.

An investigation and remediation are planned for Sept. 11-12, during which the well will be offline and the system will be supplied by the reservoir.

While only supplied by the reservoir, additional water restrictions will be in place.
