Students in attendance at the Castlegar City Council meeting at Stanley Humphries Secondary School yesterday received some good news.
For the first time since 2004 there will be an increase to city-awarded scholarships to the the school as well as the Kootenay Columbia Learning Centre.

She says after twelve years it was about time to boost the scholarships.
Council feels providing financial assistance to a graduate from a Castlegar school demonstrates to the students, teachers and administration that they are recognized and supported by the community.
