The Town of Creston has renewed its commitment to the RDCK Wood Stove Exchange Rebate Program for another year.
Councillors approved the $100 top up per application for a maximum of 20 stoves.
The program offers residents a financial incentive to replace their old, inefficient wood stove with a new, cleaner-burning heating appliance.
Residents wanting to participate can apply for a $350 grant through the RDCK.
In order to qualify, a pre-1994, uncertified wood stove must be replaced with a new, epa- or csa-certified wood stove, gas stove, pellet stove, or insert.
The stove must be utilized to heat a home.
The RDCK receives funding from the province and BC lung Association to run the wood stove exchange program.
