A city-funded committee in Nelson is hoping for an increase to their budget.
The Cultural Development Committee has requested a 2.5% increase to bring their budget to $41,000 a year.
Joy Barrett, the Cultural Development Officer says Nelson’s arts scene is a draw for locals and tourists.
The committee is helping launch an art rental program to promote local artists.
They’re also hoping to develop a walking tour app that would guide visitors to Nelson past art displays.
