RD supports motorbike noise petitioners

A group of concerned residents are thanking the RDCK board for backing their stance on motorbike noise.

Last month a petition of over 4,000 signatures was presented calling for police to enforce noise pollution laws, especially motorbikes, that travel the highways along Kootenay Lake and Slocan Valley.

The board will now ask the provincial government to take appropriate action.

Here’s Silverton Resident Gloria Lisgo, who was behind the petition.

The RDCK will also take the matter to the wider Kootenay Boundary governments with the aim of ensuring there is more enforcement around excessive noise pollution on our roads.
