Trail dam needs some safety checks

The Cambridge Dam is safe but needs some slight maintenance.

This from Warren Proulx the Engineering Technician with the city of Trail.

He says the city is required to send an engineer to the site every two weeks throughout the year.

The Province has listed strict guidelines for dam owners to follow after the failure of the Testalinden Dam in Oliver in 2010.

Trail city council will discuss allocating $50,000 over the next two years to ensure the dam complies with provincial regulations.
