Will Grand Forks water restrictions be enough?

The recent moves to stricter water restrictions in Grand Forks may not be enough.

This in light of the worsening drought situation in the Kettle River region. The province this week declared the area is at a Drought Level 4 which is as dry as it can get.

The city of Grand Forks says their water system is running at almost full capacity and is being pushed. City council decided recently to reduce sprinkler use to only two days a week. But that was before this latest Drought Level 4 rating.

Council has already asked residents to voluntarily refrain from watering their lawns.
