Elections BC to probe election complaint issued by BC Conservatives

B-C’s Conservative party is calling for an independent investigation into last October’s provincial election.

Party leader John Rustad says they’ve uncovered several irregularities which could change the results.

Those include non-Canadians casting ballots, people being told they couldn’t vote because someone had already voted under their name, and one case of someone voting twice.

He didn’t offer any additional details.

Rustad says we need to have confidence our elections are being run properly.

The NDP has a narrow one-seat majority.

But the Conservatives are challenging their 22-vote loss to the New Democrats in Surrey-Guildford.
