The Creston Valley Housing Corporation has officially announced their Board members, to help steer the future of affordable housing for the town.

Mayor Arnold DeBoon says council received are number of applicants from existing and new community members.

“When we’re developing housing and stuff there’s certainly the dedication of the people that live here but there’s also the energy and talent of people who have come here from other places to call Creston home so we’re happy that we have formed now the board, and we’re excited about the next steps.” said Mayor DeBoon.

“The council appointed Daniel Cunningham, Karen Peck, Lawrence Fisher, Anne Jackson, Dina Bambrick, John Atkins and Penelope Cavanagh to the board and we’ve also increased the participation of our council by one councilor, and that is Monique Ares.”

Next steps include gathering the board and getting everyone up to speed to start moving forward.

“After that we will be strategizing and working on plans, we do have two pieces of property that we are hoping to develop fairly quickly, and so we will start working on that and there’ll be a plan for apartment complexes.”
