Can Kinnaird Bluffs be converted into a public park for hikers and rock-climbers?
Vince Hempsall, the Kootenay Director for the Climbers Access Society Of BC sure thinks so, and he is looking to take action to make it happen.
Hempsall is looking into purchasing a 17.5 square acre area at the bluffs with a goal of better accessibility and making it a public green-space.
He presented his plans to Castlegar City Council and generated a good amount of interest.
The land costs $57,000 and Hempsall says it would be covered through fundraising and an angel investor.
