Warm February and not much snow

A warmer than usual February for our region.

This from our South East Fire Centre weather office in Castlegar.

For the second month in a row no arctic air made it into the area which led to above average temperatures most days.

The mean temperature was 2.8 C above normal at 2.7 C.

The warmest day of the month was February 27th at 14.1 C which broke the daily record for our region from way back in 1972. However it was just short of the all time warmest February day of 14.3 C in 2010.

We had just 7 cm of snow but total precipitation was 27% above normal.
