The City Of Castlegar is not against having a ride-sharing service in the community, but are not ready to formally support it either.
However councilor Florio Vassilakakis is all for it.
He says companies like Uber can be a great alternative to the city’s under-served taxi service.
Vassilakakis was hoping for the city to endorse car-sharing to the provincial government through a letter.
But council has decided to seek more information before formally supporting the idea.
