Thunder Cats’ Sidney Brill signs with University of Oregon Ducks

Coming off a career season offensively, Creston Valley Thunder Cats defenceman Sidney Brill has committed to play for the University of Oregon Ducks in the American Collegiate Hockey Association next fall.

The Henderson, Nev., native had five goals and 15 points in 42 games for the Thunder Cats this season.

In 115 career regular-season games, Brill scored 11 goals and added 28 assists for 39 points. He began his Kootenay International Junior Hockey League career with the Princeton Posse, playing 21 games and recording six points in the 2023-24 season. He was then traded to the Thunder Cats.

Brill also played in 11 KIJHL championship playoff games, all with the Thunder Cats, and had three points.

The Ducks have KIJHL alumnus Bobby Anselmo, who played for the Columbia Valley Rockies and Thunder Cats, on their roster.
