Two all-candidates forums planned in Creston

Creston Valley voters will have two opportunities next week to hear from candidates in the municipal election.

College of the Rockies’ Creston Campus is hosting two all-candidates forums at the Creston Recreation Centre’s Creston Room.

The first is being held Monday Oct. 5, with candidates for mayor and council discussing issues affecting the Town of Creston.

The forum begins at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:45 p.m.

A second forum will be held the next day on Oct. 6. That forum will feature candidates running for Regional District of Central Kootenay and school trustee positions. It also starts at 6 p.m. at the Creston Room, with doors opening at 5:45 p.m.

Both forums will be moderated by Rita Scott and will give candidates an opportunity to introduce themselves and respond to questions from the audience and community members.

Members of the public are invited to submit questions in advance by emailing creston@cotr.bc.ca.

Questions may be submitted anonymously and must be received by noon on the day of each forum. Individuals who are unable to attend are also encouraged to submit questions.
