Construction of the second phase for Castlegar’s Millennium Park Master Plan is set to begin in the near future.
Mayor Lawrence Chernoff says there will be lots of work to do.
The city had a budget of $750,000 for the project, but the contractor, Sorenson Excavating, tendered it well under that figure at just over $430,000.
Chernoff says this means some parts of phase two which were sacrificed to save money could be re-introduced.
