The BC Government is investing over $2 million dollars into programming at the College of the Rockies.
$1.76 million is earmarked for skills training in high-priority trades.
The funding will pay for 600 training spots in trades such as automotive service technician, carpenter, institution entry cook, electrician, heavy duty equipment mechanic, industrial electrician, millwright, steamfitter/pipefitter and welder.
Another $450, 000 was announced to support the transition and planning to allow nursing students at the College of the Rockies to complete the four-year University of Victoria degree program in the region.
Premier Christy Clark announced the funding while in Cranbrook earlier this week.
