Agrologists to tour central kootenays

A team of agriculture experts will be out and about in the Central Kootenays this summer.

Agrologists from the Creston and Nelson areas will be conducting an agricultural land use inventory.

RDCK’s Manager of Development Services, Sangita Sudan says it will be used to develop an agriculture water demand model for the region.

She says this info will help in land use decision making and enabling policies as well as identify how much water is required for agriculture to exist.

The initiative is a partnership between the federal, provincial and regional governments .
