FireSmart Ambassador assessing homes

A busy few months for Creston’s FireSmart Ambassador.

Kelsey Syfchuck has visited close to seventy homes within 200-meters of the treeline of Goat Mountain, which is considered a high risk area.

She looks for issues with both houses and property.

Syfchuck says other concerns are cedar shake roofs and some types of siding.

Creston Fire and Rescue secured funding for the FireSmart Ambassador. initiative through a UBCM grant.
