The Town of Creston is looking to social media to amp up its communication with the public.
Via the town website, people can sign up to be automatically notified by email or text on a number of topics in real time.
Mayor Ron Toyota says this brings the info directly to residents, so they don’t have to look for it.
Press releases, emergency service interruptions, public notices, community events and bids and tenders are among the topics folks can choose from.
Toyota says this feature is along the same lines as the emergency notification system the RDCKÂ recently rolled out.
