The Creston Valley will see major benefits from the expansion of the College of the Rockies Nursing Program.
$450, 000 in provincial funding will allow nursing students at the college to complete the four-year UVic degree program in the region.
Dean of Health and Human Services Heather Hepworth says this opens the door to more local opportunity.
Nursing students going into their first or second year this coming September will be able to complete the entire program in Cranbrook.
