Cattle ranchers pleased with end to beef ban

Local cattle ranchers are applauding the end of Mexico’s ban on Canadian beef imports.

The reopening of Canada’s third largest export market is being called vital to the industry.

Creston Valley Beef Growers Association President Larry Rast says the ban went into effect in 2003.

The Canadian Meat Council estimates the increased market access will add $10 million annually to the beef sector.
