An update on the injured great blue heron that was rescued near Creston.
Donna Amas, who helped the bird, says the it did not survive.
The heron was found in a ditch Monday and appeared to have a broken leg.
Amas wrapped it in a blanket and took it home.
She also arranged for its transport to Kamloops for surgery and rehabilitation.
