The ferry debate: an East Shore perspective

An East Shore resident fears their voices are being drowned out in the Kootenay Lake ferry debate.

Mike Jeffery collected about 200 names on a petition in favour of moving the Balfour landing to Queens Bay.

But he worries their view will be lost in the face opposition on the west side of the lake.

Jeffery says reducing the ferry crossing time to 18 minutes would be a great benefit for the East Shore.

It would speed up emergency response times and help local businesses.
