Hearing set tonight on solar project

A public hearing on a proposed solar energy plant goes at the Creston community complex this evening.

Ontario company Saturn Power is hoping to develop a 33-hectare, 15-megawatt facility on vacant land in the vicinity of Kid Creek.

That’s about five kilometres east of Kitchener.

The power would go into the BC Hydro grid.

The land use designation would need to change from country residential to allow the project.

The public hearing starts at 5:30 this evening.
