Preparations underway for Yaqan Nukiy pow wow

As Creston’s blossom festival weekend approaches, so does one of the staples of the festival.

The Yaqan Nukiy pow wow has been a part of the celebrations for 27 years.

Lower Kootenay Band chief Jason Louie says it draws a lot of people and not just from Creston.

The theme this year is “Honoring our Men.”

The pow wow is Saturday and Sunday at the Lower Kootenay Band gym and starts at 1 pm. both days.
