The Town of Creston’s top-earning staff made less in 2016 than in 2015.
The nine highest paid employees earned a combined total of $976,000, down from $1.19 million the previous year.
Their combined expenses were also down from $58,000 to $45,000.
But the town says there were no actual pay reductions.
The difference is due to some vacation payouts in 2015 and in the timing of pay periods.
The town’s overall staff payroll was up slightly from $2.6 million in 2015 to $2.65 million in 2016.
Council’s remuneration remained virtually the same at a combined $105,000,but their expenses decreased from about $29,000 to $24,000.
