Starting Tuesday, the Gray Creek Pass will be closed as the wooden bridge across Baker Creek is replaced with a concrete one.
The job is expected to take a couple of weeks.
Gray Creek’s Tom Lymbery says motorized traffic won’t be able to get through but others will.
Lymbery says the link between the East and West Kootenay is becoming increasingly popular. It’s now officially part of the Trans-Canada Trail.
The bridge being replaced is on the Kimberley side of the pass, 14 km from the summit. It’s the only remaining wooden bridge.
