The Regional District of Central Kootenay will review Arrow Creeks fire service contract at the end of the year.
The RDCK will apply for a referendum to take place alongside the municipal election in October.
Maximum taxation for Arrow Creek was reached last year.
Rural Creston Director Tanya Wall says the referendum will allow the community to decide if they want to increase taxation to maintain the service.
The contract was renewed for five years in December 2017.
Wall says if the community wants to maintain the status-quo they’ll have to look at the contract.
There is an out-clause in the contract if the community decides not to allow for increase in taxation.
