The Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce is implementing a business recovery strategy.
They received a $5000 grant from the BC government to develop a plan if a natural disaster were to occur in the valley.
Chamber president Mark Wolfe says they’ll be working alongside the Regional District of Central Kootenay.
He says the need for a plan was realised after 2013 floods in Alberta and recent wildfire seasons in BC.
Wolfe adds most of the strategy was flushed out during the grant application process.
The next steps will be to work with a committee to figure out what they need as a business response.
